Mass migration by Singapore firms to cloud tech

SINGAPORE: Cloud has long been a go-to technology for HR to store their workloads. While many Singapore firms use cloud tech to store half of their work, many others have plans to move their entire workload into the cloud.

A recent survey by OpenGov Asia showed that more than half or around 51% of respondents already have their entire applicable infrastructure on the cloud. The survey also revealed that business growth (36%), efficiency (23%) and security (8%) are the top three factors that drive firms to choose cloud tech to support their workload.

The Singapore government also uses cloud computing platforms for governmental systems called the Government Commercial Cloud (GCC).

Government agencies too can tap into commercial cloud software to incorporate advanced functions into their digital services. Things like application testing and deployment can be automated and done faster, allowing for prompt and efficient delivery of government services to businesses.
