Initiative for adult education sector refreshed

SINGAPORE: SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) has appointed the Institute for Adult Learning as the programme manager for Innovative Learning 2.0 (iN.LEARN 2.0), which supports the development of solutions in the Training and Adult Education sector.

The initiative follows in the footsteps of iN.LEARN 2020 that was launched in 2015 to promote innovative and blended learning in the Continuing Education and Training ecosystem.

SSG has refreshed the initiative to better foster supportive market conditions that can increase the rate and adoption of innovative training approaches and practices.

Key areas of iN.LEARN 2.0 include increasing the uptake of online and blended learning by individuals and amplifying enterprises’ adoption of innovative learning technology.

The initiative will also focus on developing effective remote assessment and proctoring solutions for individual and enterprise-led training; and developing effective placement solutions that tighten the industry-training nexus.

"The refreshed iN.LEARN 2.0 initiative signals SSG's strong commitment to encourage and support innovation in the [Training and Adult Education] sector," said Tan Kok Yam, Chief Executive of SSG. "We hope that new ideas will emerge that prove to be effective and scalable, in helping more working adults learn and upskill themselves."
