Filipino employees prefer fully remote work over hybrid

Updated: Mar 11

PHILIPPINES: A majority of Filipinos still prefer to work remotely, even as companies are slowly introducing hybrid work arrangements, according to a new survey.

Research from Qualtrics shows that 58% of Filipinos would want to work five days per week remotely and zero in the office. Fewer than 40% of the respondents said they would be satisfied if they had to work more than four days per week in the office.

Qualtrics said employers must learn to adapt to the needs of their employees as working environments evolve, especially with the proliferation of hybrid work set-ups.

“Addressing the challenges faced is not as simple as setting new work schedules or boosting engagement,” said Lauren Huntington, Employee Experience Solutions Strategist for Qualtrics Southeast Asia. “People have varied needs in today’s working environments, meaning the ability to quickly and easily identify and respond to the issues having the biggest impact with tools like Qualtrics is a significant advantage.”

To stay ahead of the curve, Qualtrics recommends companies to invest in collaboration technology and provide benefits that support working from home.
