Employers plan revamps to worker benefit strategies

Updated: Nov 4, 2021

PHILIPPINES: Employers are mulling on ways to improve and customize their employees' benefit programs over the next two years, according to global advisory and solutions company Willis Towers Watson.

Susan La Chica, head of the company's Health and Benefits unit in the Philippines, says a recent survey showed 76% of local employers were struggling against increasing pressure to manage their benefit costs, while at the same time also finding new ways to support their employees’ overall wellbeing amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Tight labour markets and the pivot to remote working or a hybrid work model, and a growing emphasis on diversity and inclusion are causing employers to look at their benefit strategies in a new light," La Chica said.
