HR TECHNOLOGY: Free-of-charge tech training may now be availed for those who are looking to upskill and prepare for jobs in the "cloud".
With its free training initiatives on hands-on cloud computing skills training, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced a new game-based role-playing experience, called AWS Cloud Quest: Cloud Practitioner, best for early-career or new-to-cloud adult learners.
It teaches foundational cloud computing concepts, while learners play a game in their quest to solve challenges in a virtual city. Gameplay includes videos, quizzes, and hands-on exercises based on real-world business scenarios. Learners understand what the cloud is by exploring core AWS services, categories, and building basic cloud solutions. The program also prepares learners for the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam, and is available through AWS Skill Builder.
Additionally, AWS has also launched an improved version of AWS Educate, with more interactive content and increased accessibility. AWS Educate lets self-motivated pre-professional learners, such as students and job training participants, access hundreds of free hours of self-paced training, resources, and lab activities.
Kevin Kelly, director of Cloud Career Training Programs at AWS said the new offerings help individuals grow their skills and employability. "We’re continuing to innovate how learners can build their cloud knowledge and practical skills, meeting them where they are and bringing knowledge within anyone’s reach by making these programs free."
